The Association of Arizona Food Banks strengthens Arizona communities so that all people are well nourished. They are committed to delivering food and quality services to food banks and to fostering relationships in support of their commitment to eliminate hunger.
The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) is the leading charitable funder and advocate of type 1 (juvenile) diabetes research worldwide. The mission of JDRF is to find a cure for diabetes and its complications through the support of research. Since its founding in 1970 by parents of children with juvenile diabetes, JDRF has awarded more than $680 million to diabetes research, including more than $80 million in 2003. More than 80 percent of JDRF's expenditures directly support research and research-related education. In 2003, the Foundation funded 500 centers, grants and fellowships in 19 countries.
Junior Achievement uses hands-on experiences to help young people understand the economics of life. In partnership with businesses and educators, Junior Achievement brings the real world to students, opening their minds to their potential. The Junior Achievement program consists of a growing number of volunteers, educators, parents, and contributors who reach out to 4 million students each year, in grades K-12. Together, this organization believes that there is a lot that's right with today's kids. Kids crave opportunity. Kids want to be successful. And kids dream big about the future. Their future. Junior Achievement hopes to help students fulfill those dreams.

Sojourner Center's Programs are based on an empowerment model, which approaches domestic violence as an imbalance of power within relationships. This desire for control over others is evidenced by physical, mental, verbal, sexual, emotional, psychological or economic abuses. Sojourner Center defines empowerment as a non-psychotherapeutic approach, in which battered women take control of their lives by making choices. Empowerment counseling acknowledges a women's competency and offers her support, resources, advocacy, information and education, striving to equalize power between a woman and her environment.
For more than 20 years, the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation has been a global leader in the fight against breast cancer through its support of innovative research and community-based outreach programs. Working through a network of U.S. and international Affiliates and events like the Komen Race for the Cure®, the Komen Foundation is fighting to eradicate breast cancer as a life-threatening disease by funding research grants and supporting education, screening and treatment projects in communities around the world.
